The collection of a new tax has started
As of April 1, 2021, the payment of a visitor tax by foreign tourists visiting the State comes into force.
This payment applies to travelers from 15 years of age and older and can be made before, during or after your trip through the VISITAX website, where the amount of $ 224 Mexican pesos must be paid.
Once the payment is made, the voucher must be downloaded and shown at the airport before leaving Mexico.
If you forgot to pay during your trip, don't worry, there will be staff at the airport that can assist you to do so.
When entering the website: https://www.visitax.gob.mx, you will be asked to fill out a form with the following information:
▪ Number of people traveling
▪ Name, age, and passport number individually,
▪ Departure date,
▪ Make the electronic payment in a secure way.
If you travel as a family or in a group, you can make the payment in a single exhibition and generate individual receipts, but you must make sure you complete all the information requested in the form.
